EDLE affiliates co-author article in Law and Economics Encyclopedia
EDLE Alumnus Goran Dominioni and current EDLE PhD student Evangelia Nissioti co-authored an encyclopedia entry in the Law and Economics Encyclopedia. The Encyclopedia aims to collect precise knowledge and definitions concerning various legal topics. By assembling such information from several European jurisdictions, the harmonisation of EU law is fostered. The contribution, titled ‘Implicit Biases in Trial Settings’, discusses implicit racial biases. The increasingly popular field of Behavioural economics has questioned failing assumptions in rational choice theory, such as biases. Dominioni and Nissioti specifically focus on trial settings, stressing multiple adverse consequences of (implicit) biases in courtrooms. The full article can be found via https://link.springer.com.
